Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced that electricity was restored to northern and southern Spain thanks to close cooperation with French and Moroccan authorities, thanking both countries for their “solidarity.”

Sánchez clarified that the incident fell within the framework of the “European electricity system,” and emphasized that efforts to restart combined-cycle plants and hydropower facilities would help stabilize the grid more quickly.

He concluded his seven-minute address without taking questions from reporters, announcing that the National Security Council would meet again at 7 p.m.
