Weather Alert: Intense Thunderstorms, Hail, and Strong Winds Expected Across Morocco

The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued an orange level weather alert, forecasting for tomorrow (Thursday) intense thunderstorms that may produce between 25 and 50 mm of rainfall, accompanied locally by hail. These conditions are anticipated to affect regions including Rachidia, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, Midelt, and Zagora from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

Additionally, strong wind gusts with speeds ranging from 75 to 90 km/h are expected on both Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday, these conditions are forecasted in the areas of Fquih Ben Salah, Jerada, Boulemane, Rachidia, Midelt, and Tinghir from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. On Thursday, the same phenomenon will impact Jerada, Taourirt, Fquih, Oujda-Anjadd, Koursif, Boulemane, Azilal, El Haouz, Rachidia, Tinghir, Midelt, and Ouarzazate between 6:00 AM and midnight.

Residents in affected areas, especially in mountainous zones and flood-prone regions, are advised to take precautions and postpone non-essential travel.
