Reflecting the changing landscape of global trade, Kazakhstan has resumed major wheat exports to Morocco for the first time in over 15 years.

This strategic move comes as the Moroccan market sees a rising demand for high-quality soft wheat, underscoring the country’s aim to diversify its import sources.

The export operation began on April 30, 2025, using a combined rail-sea logistics route. The first shipments departed from Zhana-Yessil in Akmola region and Sarykol in Kostanay province, heading to Liepaja port in Latvia, and from there by sea to Morocco.
