The National Airports Office (ONDA) has launched two international calls for expressions of interest to construct a new terminal at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, as part of preparations for the 2030 FIFA World Cup and to establish the airport as Morocco’s main future gateway.

According to a statement received by Morocco24, the goal is to boost the airport’s annual capacity from 15 million to 35 million passengers by 2030.

With an estimated investment of 15 billion dirhams (around 1.6 billion dollars), the new next-generation terminal is expected to handle 20 million additional passengers annually by the end of 2029.

The project will reinforce Casablanca’s strategic position as a continental hub linking Europe, Africa, and the Americas, and support the growth of Royal Air Maroc, Morocco’s national airline.
