Fès Tragedy: 9 Dead and 7 Injured in Residential Building Collapse

Authorities in Fès have confirmed that nine people died and seven others were injured after a multi-story residential building collapsed on the night between Thursday and Friday in El Hassani district, in the Merenyine area.

Upon notification, local authorities, police, and civil protection teams rushed to the scene to conduct rescue operations, secure the area, and evacuate residents from nearby buildings as a precaution against further collapses.

Search operations are ongoing under the rubble to ensure no one remains trapped or missing.

The injured victims were transported to Al Ghassani Hospital for emergency treatment. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the collapse. The building was already classified as unsafe, with evacuation orders issued prior to the incident.
