Said Naciri Denies Charges in ‘Desert Escobar’ Case, Claims It’s an Attack on State Institutions

During his hearing before the Casablanca Court of Appeal, former Wydad president Said Naciri firmly denied the accusations against him. He stated that the claims made by the main suspect, known as the « Desert Escobar », are an attempt to undermine Morocco’s security and military institutions. Naciri explained that his connection with the Malian suspect began when the latter presented himself as an advisor to Mali’s president and attended meetings alongside the Malian ambassador. He called on the court to provide any concrete evidence, claiming the accusations are a form of retaliation against the regime rather than a personal issue.
