Tragedy in Casablanca: Man kills his elderly mother and attempts to flee with his daughter

A horrific crime shook the Ainassi neighborhood of Casablanca early Thursday morning, as a man stabbed his elderly mother to death and tried to flee the city with his minor daughter.

According to sources familiar with the investigation, the 70-year-old woman was fatally stabbed in the heart around 1 a.m. inside her home using a bladed weapon.

The sounds of the attack alarmed neighbors, who immediately alerted authorities. Police and emergency teams rushed to the scene and transported the victim to Sidi Moumen hospital, where she was pronounced dead due to the severity of the wounds.

The assailant then tried to escape to the Oulad Ziane bus station with his daughter, but police acted swiftly and managed to arrest him before he could leave the city.

He has been placed in custody under the supervision of the public prosecutor while the investigation continues to determine the full motives and circumstances behind the crime.

The local community remains in shock, especially since the victim was well-known for her kindness and care for her family.
