Carlo Ancelotti Appointed Brazil Head Coach Until 2026 World Cup

The Brazilian Football Confederation announced on Monday the appointment of Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti, currently coaching Real Madrid, as the new head coach of Brazil’s national team until the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ancelotti, 65, becomes the first foreign coach to take permanent charge of the Brazilian national team in over a century.

He will conclude his duties with Real Madrid at the end of the Spanish league on May 25 and will officially start his new role with the Seleção the following day, as confirmed by the federation.

Ancelotti’s Brazil debut will be against Ecuador on June 5 in the World Cup qualifiers, followed by a match against Paraguay in São Paulo five days later.
