His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in his capacity as President of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary, received three new council members this Monday at the Royal Palace in Rabat, reaffirming Morocco’s commitment to justice independence and judicial governance.
The new appointees are Hicham Belaoui, who was appointed as the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation and member of the Council, Hassan Tariq, appointed as member in his capacity as Ombudsman of the Kingdom, and Farid El Bacha, also appointed by the King.
The newly appointed members took the oath before the King in the presence of Mohamed Abdennabaoui, Deputy President of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary.

It also prepares reports on the state of justice and the judicial system and provides detailed opinions on justice-related matters upon request from the King, the government, or Parliament.
According to Article 115 of the Constitution, the Council is composed of elected judges, ex officio members, and individuals appointed by the King for their recognized competence, impartiality, and dedication to judicial independence.
