In a strongly worded statement, Wydad Athletic Club’s supporters group « Winners 2005 » expressed deep disappointment with the team’s performance last season, labeling it the third consecutive year without any titles—a situation unworthy of the club’s rich legacy.

The group placed full responsibility on the club president, citing numerous administrative and technical missteps as key reasons behind the club’s failures.

They also accused the Professional League of unfair treatment, especially in scheduling and refereeing decisions that seemed to deliberately hinder the team, while criticizing the club management’s lack of strong responses.

Recruitment was another major point of criticism. The group highlighted ineffective signings, including three Brazilian players who made no significant impact, and pointed to the absence of a clear technical structure, notably the lack of a sporting director.

The statement cited worrying figures: Wydad failed to win 16 out of 30 league matches, and registered the highest number of draws (12)—a clear sign of tactical inefficiency, according to the group.

Despite acknowledging efforts to restructure the women’s and youth teams, the group maintained that such steps are far from sufficient for a club ranked second in Africa.

Winners 2005 concluded by urging the club president to take bold decisions before the upcoming Club World Cup, and called for unity across the Wydad family, emphasizing that the club’s 88-year history deserves much more than mediocrity.
