Truck Accident Uncovers Major Drug Smuggling Operation in Morocco

What initially appeared to be a routine traffic accident turned into a high-profile drug case, when a heavy truck overturned on the road between Sidi Allal El Bahraoui and El Arjat, revealing a large quantity of cannabis resin (hashish) hidden inside.

The truck driver fled the scene, raising suspicion. The Royal Gendarmerie quickly secured the area and seized the shipment. The driver was arrested later in a coordinated security operation.

Initial findings suggest the cargo was headed to an unknown destination, possibly linked to an organized trafficking network operating across multiple Moroccan cities.
