Moroccan Ministry Announces: Eid al-Adha to Be Celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2025

The Moroccan Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced that the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 AH will be Thursday, May 29, 2025, and Eid al-Adha will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
In an official statement, the ministry explained that it had monitored the crescent moon after sunset on Tuesday, May 27 (29th Dhu al-Qi’dah), in coordination with its regional offices and the Royal Armed Forces’ lunar observation units. Since the moon was not sighted, the month of Dhu al-Qi’dah completes 30 days.
Eid al-Adha, one of Islam’s holiest celebrations, is observed with religious and family traditions such as prayer, animal sacrifice, and gatherings with loved ones.
The ministry also offered a prayer for His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, the Royal Family, and the entire Moroccan people and Muslim Ummah, wishing them prosperity and blessings on this sacred occasion.
