Morocco Engages in Francophone Parliamentary Dialogue in Cotonou

Members of Morocco’s parliamentary delegation are taking part in the 31st Regional Assembly for Africa of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie (APF), held in Cotonou, Benin, from June 2 to 4, under the theme: “Cooperation and Shared Challenges.”
The Moroccan delegation is headed by MP Hassan Benomar (RNI), and includes MPs Houcine Oulalal and Latifa Leblih, as well as Mina Hamdani, a member of the House of Councillors representing the Moroccan Labour Union.
The session opened with the adoption of the agenda and a report by the regional representative, reviewing recent achievements and regional coordination efforts. A closed session between heads of delegations and committee chairs provided a forum to align strategies and set shared priorities for the region.
Delegates are debating three central topics:
-
Geopolitical Shifts and African Francophonie: Examining how global changes are impacting the continent.
-
Demographic Dividend in Francophone Africa: Exploring youth as a driver for growth and sustainable development.
-
Energy Access and Electrification Strategies: Discussing ways to accelerate universal access to power across African territories.
Morocco’s participation reflects its commitment to South-South cooperation and to promoting inclusive development, particularly through strategic partnerships within the Francophone world.
