Morocco Earns Top IAEA Ranking for Nuclear Safeguards

The Moroccan Agency for Nuclear and Radiological Safety and Security (AMSSNuR) announced Tuesday that Morocco has earned the highest international rating for nuclear safeguards from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), according to its 2024 annual report.

The country received an “broader conclusion” status, indicating full transparency and confirming that all nuclear materials within Morocco are used exclusively for peaceful purposes.

This top rating reflects Morocco’s strict adherence to international non-proliferation standards, based on the Safeguards Agreement and the Additional Protocol signed in 1975 and 2011 respectively.
