Tarfaya Port Sees 345% Surge in Coastal and Traditional Fishing in April 2025

The Port of Tarfaya recorded a remarkable increase in coastal and traditional fishing landings during April 2025, with volumes surging by 345% compared to the same month in 2024, according to the National Fisheries Office.
The total landed volume reached 9,889 tons, generating MAD 163.98 million, an 84% increase from MAD 88.93 million in April 2024.
Pelagic fish experienced the sharpest rise, with landings up 1,600% to 7,077 tons, valued at MAD 28.67 million.
White fish landings rose by 80%, totaling 1,490 tons worth MAD 26.81 million.
