Major Escalation in the Middle East: Israel Launches Massive Airstrike on Iran, Top Commanders Killed

Iran was hit early Friday by a large-scale Israeli airstrike, targeting strategic sites including sensitive nuclear facilities, according to official Iranian media.

Among the casualties was General Mohammad Bagheri, Iran’s Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, along with several other top IRGC commanders.

Nearly 200 Israeli fighter jets took part in the operation, hitting over 100 military and nuclear targets across Natanz, Isfahan, and Kerman.

In retaliation, Iran launched around 100 armed drones towards Israeli territory. Israeli air defenses reportedly intercepted most of them.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump stated he was briefed in advance and called for the resumption of nuclear talks scheduled for Sunday in Muscat.

Iran labeled the attack a « clear act of war » and vowed a strong response. Global leaders are now warning of a potential regional war.
