First Special Stamp Series Dedicated to Endangered Moroccan Handicrafts Unveiled in Rabat

In Rabat today, Thursday, the first exceptional series of ten postage stamps dedicated to endangered Moroccan traditional crafts was officially launched.
This initiative, carried out in partnership between the State Secretariat in charge of Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, the UNESCO Office for the Maghreb in Rabat, and Morocco Post, aims to preserve the intangible cultural heritage linked to Moroccan craftsmanship.
It also serves as an awareness-raising approach and a tribute to the « living human treasures », highlighting ten emblematic crafts that reflect the richness and diversity of Morocco’s artisanal heritage.
The featured crafts include: Rabati caftan, rammed earth, southern vegetal crafts, Essaouira woodcraft (dokk essouiri), bellows making, Tataoui weaving, felt craft (labada), embroidered leather (satrmiya), Ziwani leather, and Meknes ceramics.
