Morocco Weather: Heatwave Continues with Localized Storms Expected Saturday

The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts a continuation of the heatwave this Saturday across various regions of Morocco, including the southern Rif, Saïs, Moulouya Valley, Phosphate and Oulmès plateaus, as well as Tadla, Rhamna plains, the southeast, and interior Saharan provinces.

Storm clouds, with potential for localized rainfall or hail, and gusty winds under thunderstorms, are expected over the High and Middle Atlas mountains and their eastern slopes, the Rif, and the phosphate plateaus.

Low clouds and localized fog will form during the morning and evening over:

• Northern and central Atlantic plains

• Western Mediterranean coast

• Western parts of the southern provinces

Moderate to strong wind gusts, with potential dust storms, are expected over the Atlas, Saïs, southeast, central coasts, and southern provinces.

• Low temperatures:

  • Between 21–27°C in Tadla, Moulouya, and southeast

  • Between 16–22°C elsewhere

• Daytime highs:

  • Rising in the Middle and Little Atlas and southern Sahara

  • Falling across the rest of the country

• Calm to slight on the Mediterranean and Strait

• Slight to moderate north of Dakhla

• Rough to very rough south of Dakhla
