Casablanca Blaze: Over 50 Stalls Destroyed in Al Massira Market Fire

In the early hours of Thursday, June 26, 2025, a massive fire erupted at Al Massira market in the Moulay Rachid district of Casablanca, causing widespread panic and substantial material damage, with more than 50 informal stalls completely destroyed.
Civil protection units and local authorities worked for hours to contain the flames, finally extinguishing the fire around 6:00 AM. The Wali of Casablanca-Settat and several officials visited the scene. Police have launched an investigation into the causes of the blaze, especially following a similar incident in a nearby market just a day earlier.
Affected traders have expressed shock and are demanding compensation, restructuring of the market, and improved safety conditions to prevent future disasters.
