Massive Fire Hits Karyan Rahamna in Casablanca — No Casualties Reported

A massive fire broke out in the early hours of Monday, July 7, 2025, in the Karyan Rahamna area of Sidi Moumen, Casablanca, causing significant material damage but no human casualties, according to local sources cited by Al3omk.
The blaze began in an unauthorized warehouse and spread rapidly to nearby makeshift tin shacks, sparking panic among residents.
Civil protection teams, supported by national police and local authorities, managed to extinguish the flames swiftly, thanks in part to the help of local residents.
Although no lives were lost, the fire destroyed property, including furniture, clothing, and important documents, further deepening the plight of already vulnerable families.
“We were asleep when we heard shouting. When we rushed out, the fire was already engulfing the depot and nearby shacks. Thank God there were no casualties, but people lost everything,” said one affected resident.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, which is the latest in a series of similar incidents across Casablanca, including those at Chtiaba Market, Moulay Rachid, and Salmiya’s scrapyard, raising concerns about fire prevention and safety measures.
Residents are calling on the government to intervene urgently, improve living conditions, and provide adequate housing to prevent future tragedies.
