Moroccan Midfielder Yassine Khalifi Joins Belgium’s Sporting Charleroi

Sporting Charleroi, a club in Belgium’s top football division, announced on Monday the signing of Yassine Khalifi, a promising young Moroccan midfielder, from Lille OSC in France.

According to the club’s official website, the 19-year-old has signed a two-year contract, with an option to extend for two additional seasons.

Khalifi joined the first team during pre-season training and will also play with Zebra Elite, the club’s reserve squad, to “share his experience with the group,” the club noted.

A product of the Mohammed VI Football Academy, Khalifi began his professional career at age 17 with Ittihad Touarga in Rabat before transferring to Lille in 2023.

He plays as a central midfielder and has made 25 appearances for Morocco’s U20 national team.
