The second edition of the Aïta Marsaouia Festival will take place from July 18 to August 2, 2025, organized by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council, under the theme: « Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future ».
This cultural event pays tribute to Aïta Marsaouia, a traditional Moroccan music genre rooted in Casablanca, Chaouia, and Doukkala, with performances and activities held in El Jadida, Médiouna, and Casablanca.
The festival will kick off in El Jadida with a masterclass on Aïta Marsaouia, followed by a talent contest called “Star of Aïta”. The winner will perform alongside legends like Bouchâib Dokkali and Bouchâib Jedidi.
On July 25, Médiouna will host concerts featuring Simo Kiza, Khalid Bouazzaoui, Hamid Serghini, Siham Mesfiouia, and Kamal Hrimo.
Casablanca’s Toro venue will welcome the final stage, featuring Houzi Mkhalif group, Mazkan, Hajib, Walid Rahmani, and Abdelaziz Stati.
A roundtable will also take place on July 25 discussing how to classify Aïta as UNESCO intangible heritage.
