King Mohammed VI Sends Condolence Message After the Passing of Football Legend Ahmed Faras

His Majesty King Mohammed VI has sent a heartfelt condolence message to the family of the late Ahmed Faras, Moroccan football legend, who passed away this Wednesday in Mohammedia at the age of 78.
The King expressed deep sorrow and sympathy, recalling Faras’s exceptional career and values. Faras was the first Moroccan to win the African Ballon d’Or in 1975, and a key figure in Morocco’s historic Africa Cup of Nations victory in 1976.
The King praised his outstanding contributions to the national team and Chabab Mohammedia, highlighting his sportsmanship, patriotism, and ethics.
« We share your sorrow in this painful loss, » said the King, extending condolences to the family, friends, and Morocco’s sporting community.
His Majesty prayed that the Almighty grant the late Faras eternal peace and provide his loved ones with patience and strength.
