Casablanca Stock Exchange Opens Monday in Green Territory

The Casablanca Stock Exchange opened trading on Monday with positive momentum, as its main index, MASI, rose by 0.31% to reach 19,227.81 points.
The MASI.20 index, which tracks the top 20 listed companies, climbed 0.3% to 1,582.91 points. Similarly, the MASI.ESG index, reflecting companies with strong environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance, advanced 0.37% to 1,323.59 points.
The MASI Mid and Small Cap index showed the strongest performance, gaining 0.56% to settle at 1,829.34 points.
Among individual stocks, “Sanlam Maroc” stood out with a strong 8.79% gain (MAD 2,029), followed by “Sothema” (+7.73%), “Stokvis North Africa” (+3.8%), “TGCC” (+3.6%), and “Ciments du Maroc” (+2.91%).
On the downside, the biggest decliners included “TotalEnergies Marketing Maroc” (-2.03%), “Bank of Africa” (-1.43%), “Aluminium du Maroc” (-0.94%), “CMGP” (-0.56%), and “LafargeHolcim Maroc” (-0.51%).
It’s worth noting that the MASI index ended Friday’s session with a solid 1.3% gain.
