The Moroccan Organization for Human Rights (OMDH) has strongly condemned the violent and racist assaults targeting primarily Moroccan migrants in Torre Pacheco, a town in Spain’s Murcia region.

In a public statement, the OMDH expressed deep concern over the growing influence of the far-right, warning that its hateful rhetoric is undermining Spain’s social fabric and jeopardizing relations with Morocco.

The organization described these attacks as a setback to Spain’s efforts in migrant integration, denouncing the involvement of VOX party members and the spread of hate speech by right-wing aligned Spanish media and social platforms.

It also criticized the political exploitation of migration for electoral purposes, and urged Spanish civil society to mobilize against all forms of racism, intolerance, and discrimination, as enshrined in international conventions.

The OMDH concluded by calling for a full investigation and the prosecution of all those involved, affirming that no act of racism should go unpunished.
