Local Heatwave in Morocco: South and Central Regions in the Hot Zone

The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts, for Monday, hot to locally very hot weather over the plains of Tadla, Rahmna, the phosphate and Oulmès plateaus, the Saïss, Gharb, Loukkos, Souss, the southeast, and the interior of the southern provinces.

Patches of fog or very light local rain are expected in the morning and at night along the northern and central coastal areas.

The sky will be partly cloudy over the High and Middle Atlas, as well as in the south and southeast. Moderate to occasionally strong wind gusts will affect the central plains and the Saharan provinces.

Minimum temperatures will range between 27°C and 33°C in Souss, Chiadma, the southeast, and the south, between 22°C and 28°C in the plains west of the Atlas, the Saïss, the phosphate and Oulmès plateaus, Gharb, Chaouia, Abda, and the southern Rif, and between 17°C and 22°C elsewhere.

Daytime temperatures will drop in the south, while rising or remaining steady in other regions.

Seas will be calm to slightly choppy in the Mediterranean, slightly choppy to choppy in the Strait of Gibraltar, and slightly to locally choppy along the rest of the coast.
