The economic capital of Morocco is gearing up for an exceptional sporting event with the official launch of the WeCasablanca International Challenge 2025 (WCIC), which will bring the city to life with urban sports throughout the month of September.

The highlight of the event will be the WeCasablanca International 10K Race, certified by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), scheduled for Sunday, September 28. Around 15,000 professional and amateur runners are expected to participate. The race will start in front of the Twin Center towers, following a smooth and secure route through major city streets such as Anfa Avenue, Moulay Youssef Avenue, Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah Avenue, and the Aïn Diab Corniche.

To build excitement before the big day, an immersive sports village will open at Place Rachidi from September 17 to 27. Free and open to the public, it will offer sports, entertainment and educational activities, including thematic workshops, games for all ages, live shows, outdoor sports performances, as well as partner and institutional spaces. Awareness workshops on health, the environment, and active citizenship will also be featured.

Organized through a collaboration between the Casablanca Municipality and Casablanca Events & Animation, the WCIC aims to strengthen the city’s reputation as a leading African hub for urban sports.

Casablanca will thus witness an exceptional sporting season, starting with the sports village on September 17 and culminating in the international 10K race that will fill the city’s streets with runners on September 28.
