The seizure occurred during a thorough inspection of a freight ship coming from an Asian country and heading to a West African nation.

The container’s accompanying documents declared it to be vehicle spare parts. However, this ruse was quickly uncovered by DGSN agents. Samples were taken by forensic and technical police experts and will undergo extensive analysis.

The judicial police immediately launched an investigation to shed light on this case. The aim is to trace the origin, route, and destinations of these substances, working closely with Interpol’s national offices in the countries where the ship had docked.
