FC Barcelona continues to expand its international youth training network in Morocco by opening a new football school, the Barça Academy, in Casablanca.
« Following the success of the Barça Academy in Rabat, the Club is launching a project considered strategic for the expansion of football in Morocco by opening a second Barça Academy in the country, » the Spanish club announced in a statement on Monday.
The Barça Academy Casablanca project will commence in September and is expected to welcome around 500 boys and girls who will be taught the playing principles and values that are integral to Barça, the statement specifies.
This new academy is the 28th of its kind worldwide, adding to the Barça Academy project’s presence in 48 countries across five continents, including campuses and training camps.
The goal of the Barça Academies is to provide « comprehensive » training while promoting the club’s brand image. « Football and sports, in general, are tools for social cohesion, and Barça is a global driving force for all these values it brings to society, » the Catalan club emphasizes.
