Canadians of Moroccan origin are urging Parc Safari in Hemmingford, Montérégie, to correct what they claim is an inaccurate map of Morocco that excludes Western Sahara. They are calling for a boycott of the park until this disputed region, central to a geopolitical debate, is added to Morocco’s borders.
A petition, which has garnered over 2000 signatures, highlights the deep dissatisfaction of this community, stating that the map shows a « truncated » version of Morocco, with the Sahara being an integral part of the nation’s territory.
While waiting for corrections, the organizers are asking the public to avoid visiting the park, emphasizing the importance of accurate educational content for all visitors. However, the question remains: is the park really at fault?
