Casablanca Stock Exchange Opens Strong

The Casablanca Stock Exchange began trading on Wednesday with a positive start, as its main index, the MASI, rose by 0.6% to 13,960.98 points.

Shortly after the opening, the MASI.20, which includes the 20 most liquid stocks, and the MASI.ESG, an index of companies with the highest ESG ratings as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, gained 0.81% to 1,134.72 points and 0.67% to 1,021.01 points, respectively.

The MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which tracks the performance of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, increased by 0.11% to 1,251.69 points. Among individual stocks, the top performers were IB Maroc.com (+5.88% to 33.88 MAD), Hps (+3.03% to 578 MAD), Stroc Industrie (+2.78% to 64.74 MAD), Ciments du Maroc (+2.57% to 1,836 MAD), and Sodep-Marsa Maroc (+2.27% to 378.5 MAD).

On the other hand, the largest declines were seen in Med Paper (-8.12% to 21.6 MAD), S.M Monétique (-4.12% to 228.05 MAD), Réalisations mécaniques (-3.09% to 540 MAD), Lesieur Cristal (-2.85% to 266.2 MAD), and Delta Holding (-2.59% to 49.66 MAD).

On Tuesday, the MASI had closed with a 0.38% loss.
