The executives and employees from various branches of the educational administration, management, inspection, as well as those responsible for guidance, supervision, evaluation, and educational orientation and planning counselors, specialists in education and social work, as well as the common administrative staff of the ministries, will return to work on Monday, September 4th, in accordance with the decision of the Minister of National Education, Preschool Education, and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, for the 2024/2025 school year.
According to this ministerial decision, classes will officially start on Monday, September 9th, but teachers are expected in their schools starting Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024. The youngest students, those in preschool in its two levels, as well as students in the first and second years of primary school, first-year secondary school students, and those in the core curriculum of the qualifying secondary cycle, will start school on Wednesday, September 4th, 2024.
Also, according to this decision, students in the third and fourth years of primary school, the second year of secondary school, and first-year baccalaureate students will return to classes on Thursday, September 5th. Finally, Friday, September 6th, 2024, will mark the start of classes for students in the fifth and sixth years of primary school, third-year secondary school, as well as those in the second year of the baccalaureate.
For the 2024/2025 school year, the ministry has chosen the ambitious slogan: « For a Quality Public School for All. » This slogan reflects the ministry’s desire to expand the « Pioneering Schools » model by adding 2,000 new public primary schools in September 2024, bringing the total to 2,628. Additionally, the ministry will introduce, for the first time, the leadership model at the secondary school level, with 230 schools adopting this innovative approach from the start of the school year.
