The Royal Navy’s coast guards intercepted a boat off the coast of Dakhla on Friday, carrying 168 irregular migration candidates from sub-Saharan Africa, including six women and eight minors.
According to a statement from the General Command of the Royal Armed Forces, the rescued individuals, who were attempting to reach the Canary Islands, were safely transported to Dakhla port. They were then handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the necessary administrative procedures, after receiving first aid.
