The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, is representing King Mohammed VI at the second Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF), taking place in Bali on September 2-3.

This second edition, themed « The Spirit of the Bandung Conference for Africa’s Agenda 2063, » was officially opened on Monday by Indonesian President Joko Widodo, with the participation of several African heads of state, government leaders, and ministers.

The Forum aims to serve as a platform to strengthen economic cooperation between Indonesia and the African continent, recognized as a key economic partner for the Asian nation, building on the success of the first IAF in 2018.

During this event, participants will explore ways to establish an inclusive, equitable, and sustainable relationship between Indonesia and Africa.

In 1955, Indonesia hosted the Asia-Africa Conference in Bandung, located 180 km southeast of Jakarta. This historic meeting gave rise to the Bandung Spirit, a set of principles aimed at promoting national sovereignty, equality among nations, and international cooperation without foreign interference. It also laid the groundwork for lasting cooperation between the nations of Asia and Africa, promoting values of justice, solidarity, and mutual respect.
