The journey between Al Rayyan and Soufiane Boufal has come to an end. On Monday, September 2nd, the Qatari club announced in an official statement that they have parted ways with the Moroccan international.
Soufiane Boufal and Al Rayyan have mutually agreed to terminate their partnership. The club announced the termination of the Atlas Lion’s contract, making him a free agent.
“The club and player Soufiane Boufal have agreed to mutually terminate the contract between both parties. Thank you, Soufiane. We wish you good luck and success in the future,” the statement reads.
This decision has sparked speculation regarding the 30-year-old forward’s next destination. In this context, some press reports suggest that Boufal might be on his way to join Al-Ahly in Egypt.
Indeed, Al-Ahly’s management has reportedly included Boufal’s name on a list of potential players presented to Swiss coach Marcel Koller to strengthen the attack for the next season. It is also reported that Koller has given his preliminary approval to the idea of signing the Atlas Lion.
