A recent report from the Ministry of Interior confirms that 18 people have lost their lives due to severe thunderstorms affecting several provinces. The victims are as follows: 10 in Tata province, 3 in Errachidia (including two foreigners, a Canadian and a Peruvian), 2 in Taroudant, 2 in Tinghir (including a Spanish citizen), and 1 in Tiznit.
Four people are currently missing in the province of Tata, with search efforts ongoing.
Material damage includes the collapse of 56 homes, 27 of which were completely destroyed, along with damage to eight medium-scale infrastructures. Essential networks such as electricity, water supply, and telecommunications were also impacted, though most services have been restored through the efforts of technical teams. Road traffic was temporarily interrupted on 110 sections, with 84 routes now cleared for normal traffic.
Public authorities have mobilized all necessary resources to support affected citizens, distributing food rations, tents, and blankets, while working on quickly restoring essential services in the affected areas.
