The Office of Foreign Exchange reported that remittances from Moroccans living abroad reached over 68.13 billion dirhams by the end of July 2024, compared to 65.95 billion dirhams during the same period last year. In its latest bulletin on monthly foreign exchange indicators, the office stated that these remittances recorded an increase of 3.3% (an additional 2.18 billion dirhams) compared to the first seven months of 2023. The bulletin also noted a 4.1% decrease in the services balance surplus, which amounted to 71.709 billion dirhams, due to an increase in service imports (+11.1%), which outpaced the rise in service exports (+3.3%). As for travel revenues, they amounted to 59.39 billion dirhams at the end of July 2024, while travel expenses reached 16.92 billion dirhams.
