AS FAR’s management has selected Al Abdi Stadium in El Jadida to host their CAF Champions League group stage matches, following the closure of Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat for maintenance.
According to reliable sources, the choice of Al Abdi Stadium was influenced by its relative proximity to Rabat compared to other stadiums approved by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The club had considered various alternatives, but with the closure of key stadiums in Agadir, Fes, and Tangier, the remaining options were limited to venues in Oujda, Berkane, Marrakech, and Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, before settling on Al Abdi.
AS FAR secured their spot in the group stage after defeating Sudan’s Al-Merrikh 2-0 at Moulay El Hassan Stadium. The club will learn their group stage opponents on October 7th.
AS FAR hopes this choice will help sustain their strong performance in the continental competition as they aim to progress to the later stages of the tournament.
