Rachid Hamouni, President of the Progress and Socialism Group in the House of Representatives, has directed a written inquiry to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad regarding the measures the ministry intends to take to facilitate the return of Moroccan citizens amidst the alarming security deterioration in Lebanon.

In his question, a copy of which is held by Morocco 24, Hamouni highlighted the military escalation in the region. Israel has intensified its airstrikes across several Lebanese areas, leading to civilian casualties and widespread infrastructure destruction. This deteriorating security situation has raised concerns among Moroccans living in Lebanon, particularly in the targeted areas, prompting many to call on Moroccan authorities to organize evacuation operations or secure special flights for their return.

Hamouni also pointed out that some Moroccans are facing financial difficulties, preventing them from returning due to the high cost of the few available flights, especially after several international airlines canceled their routes to and from Lebanon.

He urged the minister to clarify the measures taken to ensure the safe return of Moroccans from Lebanon and to alleviate their suffering during these challenging times.
