The Casablanca Stock Exchange opened trading this Wednesday on a downward trend, with the main index « MASI » dropping by 1.3% to settle at 14,017.24 points.
The « MASI.20 » index, which reflects the performance of the top 20 listed companies, fell by 1.47% to 1,129.58 points, while the MASI.ESG index, representing companies with the highest ESG ratings, declined by 1.23% to 1,005.46 points.
Meanwhile, the « MASI Mid and Small Cap » index, which tracks the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises, dropped by 1.14%, settling at 1,333.97 points.
Regarding individual stocks, the biggest gains were posted by « Stockvis North Africa » (+5.27% / 15.79 MAD), « Lafarge Holcim Morocco » (+4.54% / 1,887 MAD), « Transport » (+2.51% / 34.34 MAD), « AFMA » (+1.89% / 1,183 MAD), and « Maghreb Payment Solutions » (+1.30% / 233 MAD).
On the other hand, the largest declines were recorded by « Moroccan Beverage Company » (-6.71% / 2,390 MAD), « Med Paper » (-5.74% / 20.51 MAD), « Delta Holding » (-4.35% / 55 MAD), « Port Exploitation Company – Marsa Maroc » (-3.71% / 441 MAD), and « Douja Promotion » (-3.44% / 36.50 MAD).
On Tuesday, the MASI index had closed with a 1.19% loss.
