Mr. Abdelatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, received Admiral Edward Allgrén, the British Senior Military Advisor for the Middle East and North Africa, on Wednesday, October 2, during a working visit to Morocco.
The meeting took place at the headquarters of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance in Rabat, in the presence of British Ambassador Simon Martin, the Counterterrorism Liaison Officer of the British Embassy in Rabat, and military and security attachés, along with senior officials from the DGSN and DGST.
The bilateral talks focused on regional and international security challenges, including the threats posed by illegal migration networks and their links to organized transnational crime.
The discussions also addressed deepening cooperation in the management of major international security and sports events, such as the 93rd General Assembly of Interpol in Marrakech in 2025, the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the 2030 World Cup, and Euro 2028 in the UK and Ireland.
Mr. Hammouchi and the British advisor explored ways to enhance scientific and technical cooperation, especially concerning explosives, and expressed their commitment to further strengthening the strategic security partnership.
Admiral Allgrén praised Morocco’s security services for their vital role in ensuring regional and international security and for their active engagement in global efforts to address security threats.
For his part, Mr. Hammouchi reaffirmed Morocco’s dedication to enhancing security cooperation with British authorities to ensure the mutual security interests of both countries.
