The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced that the first day of Rabi’ Al-Akhar in the year 1446 of the Hijri calendar will be this Saturday, October 5, 2024.
In a statement, the ministry noted that the crescent moon for the month of Rabi’ Al-Akhar 1446 was observed after sunset on Thursday, October 3, 2024, corresponding to the 29th of Rabi’ Al-Awwal. However, the moon sighting was not confirmed.
The ministry’s statement reads as follows: “The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs informs citizens that after observing the crescent moon for Rabi’ Al-Akhar 1446 on Thursday, October 3, 2024, it was confirmed that the sighting was not established. Therefore, the month of Rabi’ Al-Awwal will be completed with 30 days, and the first day of Rabi’ Al-Akhar will be on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
