The Casablanca Stock Exchange began trading this Monday on an upward trend. The main index, MASI, gained 0.22%, closing at 14,198.61 points. The MASI.20 index, reflecting the performance of the top 20 listed companies, rose by 0.1%, reaching 1,141.96 points. Similarly, the MASI.ESG index, which tracks companies with top ESG ratings, climbed by 0.12% to settle at 1,017.60 points.
The MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which tracks small and medium-sized companies, recorded a 1% increase, standing at 1,365.54 points.
Among the biggest gainers were Sothema (+7.43% at 979.8 dirhams), Jet Contractors (+6.44% at 1,240 dirhams), Delta Holding (+3.63% at 56.48 dirhams), Travaux Généraux de Construction de Casablanca (+2.73% at 414 dirhams), and Taqa Morocco (+2.68% at 1,530 dirhams).
On the downside, Med Paper (-4.42% at 20.55 dirhams), Société Minière de Touissit (-2.64% at 1,587 dirhams), Africa Industries (-2.25% at 308.6 dirhams), Stokvis Nord Afrique (-1.47% at 15.43 dirhams), and LafargeHolcim Maroc (-1.35% at 1,826 dirhams) experienced the largest declines.
