On Monday, October 7, police officers from the Marrakech Security Directorate arrested a 33-year-old French citizen of Moroccan descent, suspected of being connected to a criminal network involved in smuggling large shipments of stolen motorcycles valued at approximately 450,000 euros.

Initial investigation data suggest that the individual is implicated in a transnational criminal network that specializes in stealing high-end motorcycles from a European country before smuggling them into Morocco for resale on online advertising platforms.

Investigative measures, bolstered by information obtained through international security cooperation channels, allowed authorities to identify the suspect and apprehend him today in a rural area near Marrakech. During the search operation, 17 motorcycles reported stolen in Europe were found in his home.

The suspect has been subjected to a judicial investigation overseen by the relevant public prosecutor’s office to uncover all circumstances and details surrounding this case. Investigations continue to apprehend all individuals involved in the thefts and smuggling, as well as to locate the proceeds from these criminal activities.
