Moroccan-American Medical Caravan Arrives in Dakhla to Perform 100 Surgeries

A Moroccan-American medical caravan has arrived in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region to conduct around 100 surgeries across various specialties, from October 6th to 12th.

The official launch of this medical and surgical caravan took place at the Hassan II Regional Hospital in Dakhla, aiming to provide specialized medical and surgical services, with a particular focus on patients requiring surgical interventions.

Mourtada Jabbar, the regional director of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, noted that the organization of this caravan is part of a partnership between the American Paul Chester organization and the regional directorate of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. The goal is to conduct a significant number of surgeries in various fields, including general surgery, ENT, and gynecology.

The caravan, organized in partnership with the Young Leaders Organization and supported by the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, initially aims to perform 88 surgeries, with hopes of reaching 100 cases.

Bill Chester, founder of the Paul Chester American organization, expressed his happiness to be in Dakhla with a team of surgeons, anesthetists, nurses, and medical technicians, offering a range of healthcare services and performing surgeries that will make a positive difference in patients’ lives, especially children.

Imad Ben Taleb, Vice President of the Young Leaders Organization, emphasized that thanks to the efforts of all involved, the Moroccan-American medical caravan has been welcomed to conduct numerous surgeries and provide medical consultations over six days.

The Moroccan-American medical team consists of 17 members from the Paul Chester organization and Moroccan medical staff from Hassan II Hospital, including specialized doctors, nurses, and medical technicians. This initiative aims to foster knowledge exchange between Morocco and the United States, enhancing medical cooperation and paving the way for future partnerships. It also reflects the success of the collaboration between the Young Leaders Organization and its local and international partners, contributing to sustainable development goals.
