On Tuesday in Paris, the Moroccan Court of Accounts was elected to lead the General Secretariat of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions with Judicial Competence (Jurisai).

This election was a highlight of the founding General Assembly of the Jurisai organization, attended by a delegation led by the First President of the Court of Accounts, Zineb El Adaoui.

As a result, the headquarters of this new organization will be hosted in Morocco at the Court of Accounts. According to a statement from the Court, « this success reflects the recognition of the Court’s efforts in promoting the judicial model. »

The Moroccan Court of Accounts, as the initiator of the creation of the Jurisai organization alongside the Federal Court of Accounts of Brazil, organized the signing of the Rabat Declaration in February for the establishment of this organization, followed by the signing of its statutes in Casablanca in June.

The founding General Assembly of Jurisai brought together the presidents and representatives of 32 supreme audit institutions from Africa, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. It also included the participation of the Brazilian Minister and President of the Court of Accounts, Bruno Dantas, and the Secretary General of INTOSAI, Margit Kraker.

Jurisai aims to strengthen the judicial model within the community of supreme audit institutions, enhance its international standing, and develop its own standards. The organization also seeks to be a driver for improving the capacities of its member institutions through a dedicated framework.

Additionally, the General Assembly elected the French Court of Accounts to preside over Jurisai, alongside the appointment of the heads of its permanent committees and the adoption of its strategic plan.
