Casablanca Stock Exchange Sees Slight Decline from October 7 to 11

The Casablanca Stock Exchange concluded its trading week from October 7 to 11 with a slight decline, as its main index, MASI, recorded a loss of 0.46%, closing at 14,101.61 points.

During this period, the MASI.20 index, which tracks the performance of 20 listed companies, fell by 0.78% to 1,132.00 points. Meanwhile, the MASI.ESG, which includes companies with the best ESG ratings, decreased by 0.39% to 1,012.48 points.

On the other hand, the MASI Mid and Small Cap index, reflecting the performance of small and medium-sized companies, saw a slight increase of 0.02% to 1,352.34 points.

The total trading volume in the central market (stocks) amounted to 1.67 billion dirhams, with the largest share going to the Central Popular Bank, representing 28.75% of total trades, followed by Taqa Morocco (7.30%) and Attijariwafa Bank (6.99%).

The market capitalization reached 728.11 billion dirhams, led by Attijariwafa Bank (115.75 billion dirhams), followed by Maroc Telecom (80.36 billion dirhams) and the Central Popular Bank (58.65 billion dirhams).

In terms of individual stock performance, the biggest declines of the week were recorded by the Société Maghrébine de Monétique (-8.66% / 211 dirhams), Stroc Industrie (-8.29% / 52 dirhams), Douja Promotion Addoha (-8.26% / 33.30 dirhams), Med Paper (-3.91% / 20.66 dirhams), and Afric Industries (-3.86% / 303.50 dirhams).

Conversely, the highest gains were made by Taqa Morocco (+5.70% / 1,575 dirhams), Sanlam Morocco (+5.50% / 1,957 dirhams), Balima (+5.34% to 230 dirhams), CTM (+4.78% / 670.60 dirhams), and Société des Boissons du Maroc (+3.83% to 2,492 dirhams).
