On Monday in New York, Jordan renewed its support for Morocco’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, praising the autonomy plan proposed by the Kingdom for a final resolution of the regional dispute over the Sahara.
In a statement before the Fourth Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, Jordan’s representative, Ahmed Samir Al-Habashneh, emphasized that his country « reaffirms its respect for the legitimate rights of the brotherly Kingdom of Morocco to sovereignty over its territories and its territorial integrity. »
He also highlighted the efforts of the UN Secretary-General and his personal envoy aimed at relaunching the political process, with a view to achieving a realistic and lasting solution to this conflict, based on international law and relevant Security Council resolutions.
