The office of the Israeli Prime Minister announced on Saturday that a drone, launched from Lebanon, targeted the residence of Benjamin Netanyahu in Caesarea, following reports by the Israeli army of « damage to a facility » in this coastal city in central Israel.
Netanyahu’s office stated: « A drone was launched towards the Prime Minister’s residence in Caesarea, » adding: « The Prime Minister and his wife were not there, and the incident caused no casualties, » without clarifying whether Netanyahu’s residence was the « facility » mentioned by the army.
The « Walla » website reported that the drone, which struck Netanyahu’s house in Caesarea, exploded despite being pursued by Israeli military helicopters the entire time.
Channel 12 quoted a source from Netanyahu’s office saying that the Prime Minister and his wife were not at their Caesarea home when the drone exploded.
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that the drone flew 70 kilometers from Lebanon and directly hit a building in Caesarea.
This comes amid reports of a large-scale attack by Hezbollah using rockets and drones targeting multiple Israeli cities and settlements.
