Transfer of Leadership at the High Commission for Planning (HCP)

Today, Tuesday, in Rabat, a handover ceremony took place between Chakib Benmoussa, appointed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI as the new High Commissioner for Planning, and his predecessor, Ahmed Lahlimi Alami, in the presence of the general directors and senior officials of the HCP.

On this occasion, Benmoussa expressed his deep gratitude for the trust placed in him by His Majesty the King, highlighting his full awareness of the responsibilities attached to this role.

He also praised the significant efforts made by Lahlimi during his leadership of the HCP, particularly noting the exemplary management of the 2024 General Census of Population and Housing, a large-scale operation that opens new horizons for Morocco.

Benmoussa added that he is certain the HCP, under Lahlimi’s direction, succeeded in building a relationship of trust with citizens by adopting a strict scientific methodology.

For his part, Lahlimi expressed his sincere gratitude to His Majesty the King for awarding him the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Throne.

He also expressed confidence in the future of the HCP under Benmoussa’s leadership, wishing him success and prosperity in his new role.

Lahlimi concluded by stating that « Mr. Benmoussa has a strong educational background and a deep understanding of Moroccan public affairs, having played a crucial role in drafting the new development model adopted as the foundation for Morocco’s future vision. »
